One Room are back! I wrote about them a while back as their music and mysterious approach to showcasing it really interested me. Here the group/person/thing/ we dont know, released a new tune on their soundcloud today titled Believe.
It's keeping in tone with their eerie production but this song is much more bearable I guess lol, the other tracks had quite deep, dark topics but this isn't as graphic! Always excited to hear more....
I remember stumbling across Iman Omari a while back and I immediately downloaded his debut album Energy.
Now Iman releases a video to one of the tracks off the album/mixtape titled Worth It. What can you see about the song and his album? The LA singer intertwines interesting synthesized beats with an eerie approach to lyrics or lack of lyrics, it's just one of those things you should listen to, even if you listen and don't like it, its good to have listened so you can see cool music like this exists!
What is the sample used in this?!!!!!!!! WHAT IS IT!!!???
Anywho, Angel has releasing some new music, I was surprised to see this because Go In Go Hard ft Wretch 32 is getting lots of radio play, he's on MTV's Brand New list and I haven't fully rinsed his 7 Minutes Before Time mixtape yet, have you? So I was surprised but pleasantly surprised of course.
This is his new track featuring Mark Asari titled Are You Good whose also on his previous mixtape on a track called Ladder (also featuring Cleo Sol) which is one of my favourites from the EP. It's a nice tune, very old school, I could see myself but also my mum grooving to this, its like a throwback tune. I'm sure I'll be playing this repeatedly for the next month.
Props to you Angel, always making solid music. You can download the new mixtape here.
You remember Vince Kidd right?! I wrote about him back in early December expressing my love for his indulgently smooth R&B voice and bad ass image. Here the Landan singer releases his first music video for track, Sick Love.
Clearly not one to shy away from a bit of controversy and experimenting to make an interesting image, this is a strong debut!! I really like the song, though I wish the tempo was increased slightly so the chorus would be much punchier but nevertheless tt's a cool track, I'm even more intrigued to see what this crazy cat has to come. More MORE MOREEEE!
Ohhhhhhhhh with every new track or visuals, my love for 14th continues to grow. Now with a bit of buzz around their name 14th are due to release their first single, below, on February 13th as well as take their underwater space party tunes on the road as they continue to perform shows.
Again like I've said before, these guys are a huge problem *in a good way obv!)!!! Their sound is so infectious and creative minds seem to always produce intriguing riddems. Yes 14th, get prepared people, for the take over of futuristic garage!!
Woooo, FINALLY I can blog about this guy!!!! I discovered Tijani on Soundcloud early summer last year when he only had one song on soundcloud (Picture It All), I liked what I heard so in my usual fashion I followed/subscribed, the whole nine yards waiting for more musical gems to grace my ears then nothing! No new music for months until NOW!
The young producer-singer-songwriter put up tracks First One which has a sultry sex kinda vibe and then put up what I think is an absolute smash and sure to be a club banger if its in the hands of the right people, his track Max.
What I love most about the songs is that they're kind of quietly sick, like you know that friend you have that is super talented at something but doesn't tell a lot of people and showcase it often but when they do its like WOW - yes, thats Tijani! Also, they're like a mixture of such different sounds, a little bit of House, with some Dance on top, a side order of R&B and sprinkle of two step. A musical meal I can't get enough of!
To see I'm excited to hear more would be the understatement on the year.
Ohhhhhhhh whatta beautifully written song! Bristol bred singer-songwriter Katie Sky wrote this song with a artist I wrote about quite a while back, Kyan Kuatois. I really really like the song, the chorus is the punchy-est part which is quite...ummm, delightful. I've known about Katie Sky for a few months now so its good to see that she has music like this bopping about. Listen listen listen!
I've been talking about Tidus for a while now on this blog and now the rapper has released his EP titled Mirrors. If I could describe this EP in one word it would be intense. This is not something you listen to while chilling on a sunny Sunday morning, I mean this could easily be a soundtrack to dark dark film so when you press play, listen with caution.
But hey dont get scared, thats the fun of it! Definitely an interesting listen, Tidus is doing it!
Lovely lovely lovely new song from Mike Hough. This guy is the NEXT, literally the NEXT! I'll just leave it at that for this sentence. I can't wait to see what Mike Hough's album is going to sound like, he has such a passion for what he sings and that in itself really penetrates you, you know, it penetrates you! Lol.
Below Mike performs his track Get Gone at Maida Vale for BBC 1Xtra which as I said, is lovely. The full band behind him really elevates the whole performance and the fullness and punchy-ness of the track. Cant wait to hear more, Hough never disappoints! (Theres an interview at the start but if you want to just hear the song skip to 2 minutes)
YES!!!! Soemthing new from the talent machine Stacy Barthe. I wrote about her and her beautiful EP in the above post a while back and now shes coming again with a seductive vibe in new track Keep It Like It Is taken from her new EP, In The Inbetween. The R&B reggae groove to the tune is so laid back and breezy, its a very 21st Century girl song, very much a women empowerment song and shows some boss lady moves from Stacy.
I've been on the fence with Jess Mills. I've tired really hard to fall in love with her music and now after hearing Pixelated People and this cover below the love is gradually starting to grow!
I'm a big fan of this song and Mills did it justice. The beat is perfect mix of futuristic garage and house, Jess Mills's smoky, kind of lost (in a good way) voice really adds another layer to the song that really lifts it. Yeaaaaah, this is a vibe!!
Kayla Brianna is the latest signee to Interscope Records and looks set to follow in the footsteps of R&B, Pop darlings Shontelle, Jordan Sparks and Karina Pasian.
Her first release from the label, If You Love Me which has a lovely Brownstone sample was preimered during one of America's most watched Basketball games and got Kayla some fans from everyone to Keri Hilson and Ice Cube. Not a bad start ah? I'm feeling this track! It's very bright, young, fun, catchy, radio friendly, yeah, very girl next door!
The real challenge will I guess come from her separating herself and rising above the rest as there are ALOT of these types of artists out there but by the sounds of this, she'll do just fine. Great debut!!!
Yes yes yes yes!!! Anytime The Internet release something I always get excited. I've had their album 'Purple Naked Ladies' on repeat for weeks now and if you haven't got it, you need to cop that shizzle NOW!
Here they release a video for their track Fastlane which follows Syd and actress Jasmine Flemings on a series of crimes and robberies, how bad ass ah!? This video is a prequel to their first video, Cocaine. The song is absolutely beautiful, I love how individual Yhe Internet are in their approach to music and everything else that comes with it, videos, their look, etc etc etc.
Definitely one of my favourite artist discoveries of last year.
With her innocence voice echoing through my speakers right now, there's no surprise why 13 year old Mahalia is causing a steer right now. I wrote about the young singer back in November and since then shes been featured in RWD, various other blogs and recently tweeted to the world by Ed Sheeran, whatta great co-sign!
Today she uploaded an acoustic demo of the track Ever After (Way) which by saying its beautiful is an epic understatement. Listen and watch her grow....
Whatta great song and video!!! This is the single from Incisive's self titled album featuring the excellent and ever-so energetic Shakka. West London rapper Incisive presents a nice chilled tune titled This Groove which is great for the Winter to Spring transition.
I love videos like this because it is so simple you actually pay attention to the track but also shows more of the artists personality which is what really makes you fall in love with an artist, the music and the personality they present to the public, very very nice vibe.
My matey Jones 2.0 released his album the other week which you can check out a preview of below. I like to follow the journeys of musicians and watch them grow into potentially great performances and artists so this is just another stepping stone towards the 21 year old from Kingston riding high!
Rusko goes it again! Taken from his new album, 'Songs' released in March, this is the lead single rfom the album called Somebody To Love. It's so gully, twisted and has an intense vibe. There a 90s dance flair to it as well as Dubstep and DnB. Really refreshing!
I've been blogging about Phlo Finister for ages now and finally everyone, blogs, radio, and more are jumping on the 20 year old and posting up her music everywhere which I'm super happy to see.
Here we get a little more insight into what the 20 year old is all about in terms of her journey, fashion choices, her movement Youthquaker and music she puts out. Cant wait till she comes to London for a show!
Ittttttttttttssssssssssssssss BARTOVEN. Whatta intense song!!! I LOVE the lyrical content, every time I listen to a rap song or any song in fact, thats probably the most important factor for me and here Bartoven hits the head on the nail with creating a through-provoking tune that also entertains. The little two step production at the end is also a really cool add on, moments like that in songs really make your ear dance and keeps you interested.
Yes fun interview with Chiddy Bang right here! I sent Live Magazine presenter Eve Yasmine to chat with the boys whose Ray Charles video just dropped. Find out what they like in girls, what they think about UK artists, their near death experience and much much more!
The more I hear from Stooshe the more they grow on me. This is their first big debut originally titled Fuck Me (definitely a good idea changing it!) but now more PG titled Love Me featuring Gym Class Hero Travie McCoy.
It's a fun song equalled with a silly, I-dont-take-myself-to-seriously video. Don't you just wanna be these girls best friends?! Stooshe have landed.
YES YES YES YES YES YES!!! For ages I've been waiting for some tune-age from 17 year old las, A*M*E and here it is in the form of beautifully poptastic song City Lights. Produced by the song-writing, producing machine MNEK and featuring his rapper-producer-song-writer brother Bartoven (Whatta cool family ah!? I wish my siblings were as musically inclined!).
It's a COOL debut, very upbeat and fun, the beat is kind of Major Lazer esk as well so separates it from just another pop tune. Yeaaaaah I'm so excited to hear more now! A*M*E has arrived!
The delicate talent that comes from Purple Ferdinand is such a thing on beauty. I blogged about the tattooist quite a while back and since then I've seen that shes been featured in RWD and various other blogs so congrats to her!!
Here Purple covers a few Lady Gaga songs in an extremely intimate setting with her signature little blue guitar. Could you really ask for more on a sunday?!
A regular on my blog, 14th, explains how they meet, how they came up with their name and also a little acoustic of their beautiful song Take Me There. It's great to see them perform so intimately which is where I think their music really flourishes. It's so organic.
They've come such a long way since my first blogpost about them and I can't wait to see what they're going to do next.
Since I heard this song back in summer I've been waiting for more stuff from EJ and now here's the video for the tune that made me fall in love with her in the first place. It's a great cool, modern chant song that you can help but get stuck in your head.
She also looks great in the cheerleader style video, so, whats next EJ?
The more I hear from L Marshall the more excited I get about whats to come.
Here the singer-songwriter delivers his distinctly real song, The Wait, depicting the trials and tribulations of his journey through the music industry. An excellently written song and his raspy voice just cries beauty and pain.
*Puts on neon sweat pants* *Puts on knee pads* *Puts on rollerskates* And watch me as I skate away in the roller disco to the coolest retro pops tunes and by cool retro pop tunes I mean the ones below by funky duo Black Cherry.
Singer Megane Quashie and producer Gui Fraisse came together in 2007 to make excellent electro pop tunes that literally makes me want to throw on some rollerskates and skate under those disco lights. Megane's echoing vocals are a perfect match up to Gui's foot-tapping-robot dance-provoking productions that create a retro sound with a modern pop twist.
After performing on slots at Glastonbury, Rockness and claiming their influences as Depeche Mode and Prince, the pairing are set to be causing a stir while sparking glitter on their way up (I dont know if the band like or carry around glitter, but I think of glitter when I listen to them).
Oh my gosh! You know when words cant describe, this is a Paolo Nutini moment, like how do you express an opinion on something when the greatness is staring you right in the face, yeah, press play. The beauty that is Daughter!
I blogged about this cool female US rapper a while back in one of my introducing posts and I'd definitely recommend you give it a glance as this girl is sick!
The LA femcee is delivering some hardcore gangsta rap in her mixtape Ignorant Art which you wouldn't guess from the video below if you muted it, but it just shows the different vibes she gives. As well as looking beautiful in the video Iggy raps his signature saucy lyrics giving you sex, sass and some serious visuals! I really like the song, its an innocent instrumental that wouldn't really be associated with her hard vibe but it works. Interesting.
Rax does it again! Continuing with The Black Crook Project, in case you forgot, that's 1 Video, Every 2 Weeks for 6 Months. Dedication and constituency right there, love that! This is the 7th video from the project as it continues to grow and evolve and it's probably my favourite one as well. (Though you cant forget the great Gingerbeard Man video, the 'bastard' line gets at me every time!).
I like this because it is so stripped back, when I first pressed play I was expecting him to start singing some Jodeci, R Kelly or something lol but as usual I am pleased and entertained by what I've heard with his lyrical content giving you those 'Oh my god thats so true' moments!
You know that kinda effortless talent that it seems if it was forced or pushed would just shatter in front of your eyes? Yeah, thats how I feel about this girl. Going by the name of Kilo Kish pronounced Key-Low-Keesh the 20 year old femcee from Brooklyn, New York delivers a mixture of rapping and story telling dream-like lyrics that is bringing a fresh, laidback cool vibe to dubbed out, trippy hip hop music.
Below are some of my favourite tunes I've heard of her so far, Navy is the one that got me jumping out my seat as the song is produced by the makers of an album I'm rinsing right now, Odd Future's The Internet, taken from her new EP, HomeSchool. Speaking of the The Internet's album Purple Naked Ladies, Kilo Kish also features a track on their album titled Ode To A Dream which is BEAUTIFUL (Listen below) and she seems to be a regular with the Odd Future gang as she also featured on Odd Future's The Journey To The 5th Echelon mixtape which is definitely a mixtape worth checking out.
But don't go jumping to the conclusion that she's part joined Odd Future for good, none Kilo is part of another collective cool Kool Kats Klub made up of Smash Simmons and Mell McCloud. I'm super excited about discovering this artist whose also a designer, it sounds like shes making music worth talking about so watch this space for more from her.
Dont you just love a bit of new Wiley ish, I sure do! Taken from the Evolve or be extinct album Wiley drops a funky-hip-hop kinda riddum, I'm sure the clubs with be looooooovvvving this! Wiley does it AGAIN!
A regular here on Buzzinunlimited, smooth haired, glasses wearing, suit rocking and soulfully soulful Project Alfie debuts his first music video of the track that I first heard from him, Beggin. The video is beautiful, props to Paul Gardner. The Twenty First artist signee (same management as Craig David in his hay-day), since his first post on this blog back in early summer 2011, he's gone from strength to strength with his music making appearances blogs all over the place after he debutted his mixtape containing hip-hop samples from the likes of Dr Dre, Jay Z and Nas.
Also check below the acoustic of his track Im Still. Beauty, simply beautiful.
I wrote about Tidus a while back when he released the video for track Welcome but now the afro haired New York rapper is delivering a new thought-provoking tune titled Gone Face. Produced and starting the rapper, Tidus brings a Tyler The Creator esk flow but with less attention seeking efforts.
How is it that I only came across this today? Weird. Anywho, on my internet travels I came across this today which I absolutely love, Eliza Doolittle always finds a mix between laidback soul, excellent pop and chilled out indie (her album I'm talking about) and these covers are a nice filler while we're waiting for her new album. 2012 I hope!?
I wrote about Duke a back while in one of my British Talent posts which you can check out HERE and I was right to label him that as the man continues to showcase his amazing amazing talent. Another example of this is in the form of new tune Face 2 Face to kick off his musically entrance in 2012.
The retro pop tune is very reminiscent of Tyson (you remember Tyson right? I blogged his disco tune Die On The Dancefloor) which I absolutely love! It perfectly demonstrates his incredible pipes but also adds an extra funk. Yes and yes!
This came on my radio the other day and almost slapped me in the face, my gosh I mean really, could this be more of a perfect remix! Their voices fit perfectly together, its so beautifully rich, melodic and just radiate's vibes and grooves. You know when a song sounds so beautiful it hurts?! Man, I'm in pain!
The success and my musicially love for Delilah continues into 2012, you ask why? Because of course, she keeps making great music!!!! Here the singer-songwriter who has, dare I say it, outshone her feature with Chase And Status that got her first recognised but most, delivers an errie tune in the form of syth-trip-pop tune titled Never Be Another.
She's currently nominated as one of MTV's Ones To Watch and with songs like this, I think it's pretty clear that Delilah is set to definitely takeover 2012 with her ever-so-heavenly vocals and I for one am extremely glad to happy it!
I've expressed my musically love for Emeli Sande enough on this blog, I'm on the brink where my gushing has been overloaded and looks almost scary. I'll just say one thing - I CANT WAIT FOR HER ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Her latest single.
